Our company's outstanding performance over the years would not have been possible without the remarkable figure of our founder, Mr. Justo Quesada Samper. A real man of the people, a self-made man in what were undoubtedly difficult times, who at the end of the sixties dreamed of building a holiday city from scratch. What today, in the midst of the 21st Century, is nothing new, was then a truly innovative project well ahead of its time.
And so in 1972 he began to build Ciudad Quesada starting out with just a modest family firm and no resources other than his own hands and, above all, a tremendous capacity for sacrifice and hard work: He did not cease in his efforts even when faced with the tremendous problems and financial crises the sector has suffered over the years, a fact which makes the successes achieved even more worthy of praise.
With the support of his wife and five children, Justo Quesada gave shape to his dream and created what is now a model company with tremendous prestige within the sector as can be seen from some of the awards we have received: the Costa Blanca Tourism Award in 1991, Jaguar Award for the Best Spanish Developer in 1999, Alicante Chamber of Commerce Award or the Prestige Rating Book.
Over the years, Mr. Quesada has gradually passed on control to his son José Angel, the company's current chairman. Although still a young man, he has spent years training to continue his father's work with the modern vision required for town planning in the new millennium, but also based on the intensive, invaluable preparation he has received since his childhood.
